This variation was used on Colt Python ca. 1974-1978. Finished with a tinted clear coat to replicate the original factory finish.
The original 3rd generation target grips always came with gold medallions, but you can also order with silver medallions..
Also available with nickel screw and nut for an added $25. If you want this option, please email us before ordering to make sure that we have them in stock!
Fits any Colt Python, including current production. They will also fit the current production Anaconda.

I bought a set of these for a Python that had aftermarket grips on it when I bought it. These grips from Olof are an exact replacement for the OEM grip. They are actually better than the Colt OEM grip and look much better. Some minor fitting, but the instructions walk you through that easily for a perfect fit. You will not be disappointed by these grips and Olof is a master craftsman where these are concerned.

I got a pair of these grips today, and they look just like the original Colt Python grips the weapon came with. These are somewhat better than the originals, and fit perfectly, just slapped them on and screwed them together. Feel great in the hand too. I love my Python, and finally, it is just like when I first got it.

Just received these grips today, perfect fit with no fitting required. When I bought my 4 inch blued Python, it had the rubber
Pachmayr presentation grip and I wanted to buy some factory original grips for almost twice the price as these.
Am I glad I didn’t, these are in my opinion vastly superior in every way to the OEM grips in quality and looks.
Now my Python looks and feels like it should.

I have a 2020 Colt 4.25″ Python and it’s a great double action revolver. I do not care for the laminate grips that it came with. I also have an old Python that I purchased back in the 80s and it still wears the original Colt walnut grips. The old-school Colt grips fit my hand better, offer better purchase because of the crisp checkering and look much more attractive than the laminates that came with my 2020 Python.
I searched for OEM grips and new Python grips online and became frustrated with current production grips from other manufacturers and with the prices the old Colt grips were fetching. Fortunately I discovered Deer Hollow Enterprises. I’m very glad I found this site. I ordered the early 3rd gen grips and of course, I was happy to see that the grips would work with the 2020. My grips arrived promptly.
The quality of the American walnut used by Deer Hollow looks to be better than on the walnut of my original Colt grips. The medallion is a high quality piece, not the cheap knock off I often see used from other vendors. Fit to my frame is incredibly precise and required no additional fitting. The checkering, width and overall dimensions are precisely correct, with respect to the original equipment grip that Colt used to make.
The hardware is not questionable metric stuff, rather it is high quality original style! In other words, these grips look like no detail was spared in research and manufacture of these historically-correct grips.
I was never going to be happy with a “close enough” pair of Python grips as my OCD about Colt handguns is pretty bad. Thank you Deer Hollow for offering us Colt nuts a true reproduction of a classic American grip!

I just bought a 6″ 2020 Colt Python and really wasn’t happy with the cheaply made laminate grips that it came with, so I did some searching and came across Deer Hollow Enterprises and bought some reproduction grips. They shipped fast, took about 3 days to get here, and overall I am very impressed with the quality of these grips. The attention to detail makes the purchase that much more satisfying. They look very similar to the original Python grips and feel really nice in your hand. The gold medallions are really nice and are actually done right. These grips make shooting .357Mag much more comfortable than the grips that Colt is shipping out with the new Pythons. Overall I’d strongly recommend these grips to anyone who is looking for that classic Python look but doesn’t want to spend $400+ on the originals.

Had to get rid of the Altamont grips that came on my 2021 Python. The biggest complaint I had with this purchase was the sub par grips. Olof got a set sent out to me in under a week no modification/adjustments needed they literally fell right in place. I’ll be grabbing a few more sets for my 6” and 3” Pythons next. I bought 7 years ago a 1976 Colt Python equipped with comfy but ugly rubber grips.
Having as well a Manurhin MR73 “Gendarmerie” revolver with wood grips… I wanted to get the MR73 rubber grips and the Python some wood grips to put it back in its original configuration.
I had to go through so many frustrations until I found this website!
Olof was swift to answer my messages, I ordered the parts following his advices.
Everything was smooth from ordering to fitting them. They look beautiful (and smell good as well).

I purchased two sets of Python Grips from you, and am very pleased. They exceed factory manufactured, and I must comment on the grips installed on the new Colts. They are low quality to say the least. When you pay top price for a firearm, They should at least put a quality set of grips on it. And it should be DEER HOLLOW period.
The shipping was fast, packaging was great, Quality of Grips were superb to say the least. I was also very impressed that when I called, the Gentleman was extremely helpful and wasn’t in a hurry to get me off the phone.

My review will sound like a number of others listed. Ordered a set of Colt Python 3rd generation grips for a new to me pistol. The pistol had an after market set of rubber grips. Long story short, the grips are beautiful, fit was exact with no sharp edges, couldn’t be happier. Well worth the wait.

Just got my Python grips and I am stunned. The seams are tight and sharp, but the most amazing thing is how you mated up exact mirror image grain lines from two different pieces of wood so they came together in perfect matching V’s of wood grain on the bottom of the grip. The screw holes are precise and the screws fit the holes like a glove…….and when you snug up the screw on the gun the screw is the perfect length! It’s the little things that make the difference. Oh,….and the screws are the correct type just like the originals. Once again the little details that make the difference.

Purchased these as range grips for my 2023 6” Colt Python. I wanted something beautiful that looked authentic and traditional yet fit my hand better. The factory grips are too smooth and skinny for me at the range. No way I’m putting ugly black rubber grips (Hogue or Pachmayr) on such a beautiful revolver.
Fit – Almost perfect out of the box. Honestly most people wouldn’t have done any additional fitting, but I wanted these things to fit absolutely perfectly and now they do. A tiny little bit of flat sanding and a couple of super thin shims as directed in the online instructions and everything lines up perfectly with no gaps or movement. Unbelievably precise fit!
Finish – Beautiful bookmatched walnut with a perfectly applied finish. Extremely well made grips. These things are gorgeous! Love that the medallions are pinned through the wood unlike the factory ones that are siliconed in place. Already had one factory Medallion fall off at the range.
Comfort – These are fatter than the new factory laminated wood grips. They fit my hand so much better than the original grips even when shooting 357 Magnum rounds. The well defined checkering sits proud of the smooth sections and bites back nicely providing plenty of grip.
Value for money – They’re a bit expensive, but worth it! Honestly these are the grips that the Python should come with from the factory. Colt skimped on the adjustable sights and grips. Upgraded both of those and now she’s perfect!
Customer Service – Shipping was fast and the item was well packed. I called Deer Hollow with a few questions before placing my order and the gentleman was very polite and helpful.
