This variation was used on Colt Python ca. 1979-1985. Finished with a tinted clear coat to replicate the original factory finish.
The original 3rd generation target grips always came with gold medallions, but you can also order with silver medallions.
Also available with nickel screw and nut for an added $25. If you want this option, please email us before ordering to make sure that we have them in stock!
Fits any Colt Python, including current production. They will also fit the current production Anaconda.

I have a 1980 Colt Python and these are an exact match to my original grips. In fact, these are better. The tinted clear coat is so much better than the old Colt finishes. I bought these for my Colt 2021 Python, but I’m thinking of ordering another set for my 1980 Python as well, and taking off the original grips and selling them. If you own a 2020/21 Python then don’t hesitate. It will improve the aesthetics of your gun 10 fold. Even if you own an original Python and just want to make some money by selling the original grips, or dont want to mess up the originals, or for whatever reason then again, don’t hesitate. These are definitely better than the original factory Colt grips. I couldn’t be happier, they are beautiful. The only thing to be aware of is do NOT try to use speedloaders with the 2021 Python. The HKS will not work and they will scratch up your grips if you try to use them because they get hung up on the grips. I recommend speed strips instead.

My late 3rd Generation Python came with the factory rubber grips. Although nice, the gun was crying for some nice wood grips. Avoid the E Bay uncertainty and purchase some of these. You won’t be disappointed.

Perfect fit on the 2020+ Python, with excellent checkering, and well-matched wood grain on both halves. They transform the controllability of the Python with full power rounds compared to the slimmer and less aggressively checkered OEM grips, and they really exude quality, right down to the properly staked medallions. They work well with the Safariland Comp II speedloader as well. My order was shipped the day I placed it, and the grips arrived in good order four days later.

AMAZING set of grips!!! They are thicker and give a firmer grip than the factory 2020 Python grips that are in my opinion just too thin to get a firm grip on when firing 357 magnum rounds. I highly recommend these grips for every Python owner. You won’t be disappointed!

👍🏻👍🏻These are my 2nd pair of Colt snake gun grips from Deer Hollow. IMO Colt should have used these guys instead of Altam___t grips on the new Pythons. They would have made the new Python as close to the Pythons of the past. I have a mint 1974 6” nickel and other then being a shade lighter in color then these new Deer Hollow grips, I don’t think any serious collector would notice these aren’t vintage. If you are on the fence about spending a copy hundred.. here is your logic, “You get what you pay for “..

I have a original series 4″ barreled Colt Python that was made in 1979. I bought it on consignment a month ago. It had never been fired and is in mint condition. The previous owner had replaced the original grips with one piece Hogue grips which while they were ok, didn’t impress me. These Deer Hollow late 3rd generation Python grips not only look great but they also give a good firm hold on the pistol. Plus with those DH grips I’m sure that my Python looks like it did when it left the factory in 1979.

Fella’s, these are the grips you are looking for! This is my third set from Olof and every set has been absolutely perfect. The fit and finish is actually better than any original Colt grips that I own. This third set is now sitting on a 3 inch 2022 Python and the look and feel of the gun is much better than the stock grips that came with the gun. Quality like this is very hard to find. Amazing grips! Bought to replace the stock grips on my new production 2021 Colt Python I picked up a few months back. These grips fit perfect and give my new Python the look and feel I wanted it to have, the stock grips that came on it just couldn’t give this look as they are much darker and more of a grey color, they were also loose, no matter how I tightened them usually one shot would loosen them right back up, I contemplated sending it back in to Colt to get new grips but then I found this set. These grips are also in my opinion a better fit to the gun and to my hand and the texture feels so much better than the stock. I have shot a 1981 Python(main reason why I wanted a Python to begin with) with original grips and these are spot on to how I remember those feeling in my hand. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality reproduction grips, excellent craftsmanship and top notch service. Thank you Olof!

Put these on a 4.25” 2020 Python and I couldn’t be happier with them. They look amazing and fit perfectly! The thicker width and more aggressive raised texturing feel so much better in my hand than the stock Altamont grips. I was worried initially that the HKS PYA speedloaders wouldn’t clear the grips but found that it isn’t really an issue. The speedloaders can get hung up on the grips slightly with .357s, but if you insert the rounds just a bit and let gravity do their job, they work perfectly. The .38 specials went in no problem because of the shorter cartridge length. If I had another Python, I’d get another set of these grips in a heartbeat! If you’re on the fence about these, stop overthinking and just order them already.

These are arguably the finest replacement grips for a colt I frame (Python). Worth every penny. I installed them on a Python Elite as I just could not get comfortable with the original laminated grips it came with.

Bought these for one of the new 6 inch Pythons. The factory grips aren’t terrible but these are nicer and have a much better feel to them. Installation was easy and the fitment was perfect. These are well worth the price and are probably the best grips you will find for a Python.

Bought these grips for my 2022 3 inch Python. Very high quality and craftsmanship. Far superior than the grips that came on the Python. Grips fit perfectly from lower pin to top radius. Had to adjust side to side for tight fit do to varied frame thicknesses from Colt. You are not going to find anything better for a Python than Deerhollow. I bought these for my 6″ Python and the ’74-’78 version for my 4″ and I’m just amazed at how great and how much like the original grips these really are. The fit, finish, the feel and look is absolutely incredible. These are some of the best grips I’ve ever seen. They make my Pythons look like they never left the 70s or 80s. I love how they curve forward at the front just like the originals.

Was hesitant at first but I’m so glad I bought these grips. Feels way better than what came on the anaconda and looks like a completely different revolver in a great way. There was a slight wiggle forward and back at first but it was very easy to fit once I nines how. Olof sent me a fitting guide that was super easy to figure out and do myself. A 5 year old could do it. Olof is very responsive with questions and is a pleasure to work with. Great company and excellent customer service. Worth every penny!!

This is my 3rd set of Deer Hollow, reproduction Colt grips. This most recent set is for a 2021 Colt Anaconda, replacing the rubber Hogue grips that Colt installs on it. After reading the numerous positive reviews here and on some gun forums, I ordered a set of the late 3rd gen Python grips and when they arrived, they were beautifully finished and looked like a work of art. Prior to ordering, I had read the grip installation and fitting instructions and was somewhat intimidated by the thought of having to fit the grips. Not to worry, the grips were a perfect fit on my 1983 blued Python. I would highly recommend these grips to anyone looking for a great set of grips for a Python.

Just got my Python grips and I am stunned. The seams are tight and sharp, but the most amazing thing is how you mated up exact mirror image grain lines from two different pieces of wood so they came together in perfect matching V’s of wood grain on the bottom of the grip. The screw holes are precise and the screws fit the holes like a glove…….and when you snug up the screw on the gun the screw is the perfect length! It’s the little things that make the difference. Oh,….and the screws are the correct type just like the originals. Once again the little details that make the difference.

I’m so glad I bought these. These beautiful grips fit my new production 3″ Python perfectly out of the box. These grips should be what comes on the new guns. They’re vastly superior to the thin, slick grips that come on the Python. I was a little hesitant to buy aftermarket grips after a bad experience with Thai grips from ebay for a S&W in the past, but I am so very glad I bought these. I just ordered a new 5″ Python and I will ditch the stock grips and get another set of these as soon as they’re back in stock. These grips have much more traction than the slippery stock grips, and they fill my hand much more nicely. They especially feel better at the top of the grip at the web of my hand. They definitely provide more support there than the stock grips. They also have a much more authentic Colt feel in the bottom of the grip, and bring back memories of an old Diamondback my Uncle owned that I used to shoot. Kudos to Deer Hollow, and thanks for the great product.

These are the grips that the 2020 Python should have come with. These fit perfectly on my 3″ Python, and they’re beautiful. They fill the hand better than the stock grips, and they offer much, much more traction. I’ve already ordered a second set for my 5″ Python. Perfect.

I’ve got these reproduction 3rd generation grips for my 2020 Python because the new grips that came on the gun are not quite as visually appealing as old factory grips. These reproduction grips are rather pricy but worth the price. They fit my 2020 Python perfectly like a pair of gloves with no gap or play. They are truly “presentation grade” grips to really complement the new or vintage Pythons.
