Steyr-Hahn 1912, 1917 WWI issue – SOLD

Steyr-Hahn 1912, Austrian 1917 issue, 9mm Steyr

The Steyr-Hahn is one of the classic firearms of WWI, a rugged and reliable pistol well suited for the rigors of trench warfare. Due to the ruggedness and reliability, these pistols were issued and reissued several times over and you rarely find them in original finish and without excessive wear. Due to the use of corrosive ammunition, they will usually have rusted and pitted bores as well.

This particular pistol was issued to the Austrian troops in 1917, and it has survived in extraordinary condition. The serial numbers match, it still retains an unusually high amount of the original rust blued finish, and the bore is bright with sharp rifling and some very minor freckling throughout the bore. The original grips are in exceptionally good condition, without the wear and grime you normally find on these pistols.

The Steyr-Hahn 1912 pistols have become very popular among collectors lately, and prices have increased tremendously in the past 5-6 years. If you’re looking for one of these, don’t let it slip away. This is a good time to pick it up before it becomes one of those guns you wish you had bought!
