SIG Neuhausen SP 47/8 Target, 9x19mm

The SIG P210 is legendary among gun owners, and by many considered as being the very best handgun ever made. The SP 47/8 Target was the first iteration of what would later become the SIG P210-5, a refinement over the military P49 into a pure target pistol. The SP 47/8 Target introduced the longer 6” barrel with the front sight attached to the barrel, both to increase the sight radius and to make sure there’s perfect alignment between sights and barrel between shots. Other enhancements include a hammer assembly affixed with a screw to the frame under the grips and a target trigger.

The SP 47/8 Target was made in very limited numbers, in the mid 53xxx to low 54xxx serial range in the early 50s. The total number produced is not known, but given that other SP 47/8s and P210s were made in the same range, there were likely less than a couple of hundred of these guns ever made.

This specific gun is in excellent condition with limited signs of use and has matching serial numbers on barrel, slide, frame and hammer assembly. The fit is very tight and the trigger is as outstanding as you’d expect from a Swiss made SIG.

This is a rare historic competition machine that will delight a collector or shooter alike.
