Russian SVT-40 – SOLD

1943 Tula SVT-40, 7.62x54R

A really nice example of the iconic Russian work horse from WWII, with matching numbers on receiver, trigger guard and stock. The stock has a few arsenal repairs, but it’s obviously the original factory stock since it’s numbered to the gun. The barrel band latch has an Izhevsk stamp, and there could possibly be other small parts that are not Tula manufacture.

This is an early import without the clutter of ugly, electropenciled numbers you usually find on the SVT-40s. The import mark is very discretely done and is barely visible (see picture). The bore is dark in the grooves, but the rifling is sharp, shiny and strong and we have shot 3″ groups at 100 yards with it, even with cheap surplus ammo.

This is one of the nicest and cleanest SVT-40s we have seen in the while. The the early imports are getting harder and harder to come by, so don’t miss out on this opportunity!
