Arisaka Type 38, 6.5×50mm Arisaka

The Japanese Type 38 was the predecessor of the more well known Type 99, which was an upgraded version in a larger caliber. The vast amount of the Type 38 rifles were made between 1906 and 1932, but it remained in production until 1944.

This rifle is a 28th series made by Nagoya Arsenal and is in incredible condition. The bluing is unusually well preserved, with some bayonet wear and some dull spots along the top of the barrel. The receiver has an unaltered chrysanthemum and deep, near perfect bluing. The dust cover is numbered to the gun, and is in perfect condition. The bore has sharp rifling with some build-up in the groves.

The Type 38 is very hard to find in this condition, let alone with a matching dust cover. If you’re looking for a nice Type 38 for your collection, don’t miss out on this gem!
