1943 Nambu Type 14, 8x22mm Nambu

This is a beautiful Japanese Type 14 pistol, made by the Toriimatsu branch of the Nagoya arsenal. The markings show that it’s a 1st series, made in October 1944.

The condition is excellent, and the finish is 99% or better with only a few, very small wear spots. The frame and the trigger group are a dark plum color and the barrel is blue, with no visible brown patina. It’s extremely clean inside and out and the bore is mirror bright, so it’s obvious that this pistol has seen very little use. All numbers match, including firing pin, grips and magazine. The only flaw worth pointing out is that somebody has penciled “lock” on one grip panel. This should be possible to erase and steam out, but we have made no attempt to do so.

This gun is one of the nicest Type 14s we have seen, and would make a great addition to any serious WWII collection!
